1. Our Privacy Commitment
At Woofurnal ("we", "our", or "us"), your privacy and data ownership are fundamental architectural principles. Woofurnal is built with an offline-first architecture. This means your canine profiles, medical histories, vaccination batches, weight growth records, and training sessions reside strictly on your local device.
What this means for you:
We do not collect, monetize, sell, or rent your personal information, your dog's photos, or your veterinary health records to data brokers, advertising networks, or third parties.
2. Information We Collect
A. Information Stored Locally on Your Device:
- Canine Identification: Dog name, breed, birth date, microchip number, and user-provided notes.
- Medical & Health Data: Vaccination dates, vaccine batch identifiers, internal/external parasite treatment records, weight history, and veterinarian clinic notes.
- Training Records: Practice session logs, repetition counts for obedience commands, and milestone badge achievements.
- Photos & Scrapbook: Canine profile avatars and polaroid scrapbook memory entries. These files remain sandboxed in your device storage.
B. Information We Do NOT Collect:
We do not track continuous GPS location, listen to audio, scrape device contacts, or access unrelated device files.
3. Device Permissions
Woofurnal requests only the minimum hardware permissions necessary to deliver core features:
- Camera & Photo Library: Used strictly when you capture or choose an avatar or training memory photo. Photos never leave your device.
- Local Notifications & Alarms: Used to schedule timezone-aware reminders for upcoming vaccine booster dates and scheduled vet visits. All alarms are computed and scheduled on-device without cloud push notification servers.
4. Data Backup & Portability
Because Woofurnal does not maintain a mandatory cloud database, you have complete sovereignty over your data. You may export a full, unencrypted JSON snapshot of your records at any time via the Settings menu. You can store this backup wherever you prefer (e.g., your personal iCloud, Google Drive, or local computer) and restore it onto a new device instantly.
5. Children's Privacy
Woofurnal does not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. Because our software does not harvest personal identity data, it adheres strictly to COPPA and GDPR-K principles.
